This is Empowerment! Middle-schoolers have a voice in their community

GUM middle-schoolers addressed members of GISD's Board of Trustees last week. The district is considering refiguring schools and our youth spoke about why every kid deserves access to a quality education.

Our youth waited patiently for three hours before it was their turn to speak, and while they were nervous, they did a wonderful job sharing their insights with the Trustees. Our kids are learning that their voices matter!
