So grateful! Happy Thanksgiving!

2020 has been a difficult year for people in our neighborhood and

across the world. Yet through it all, we’ve seen our young people respond

to the difficulties with resilience and hope.

Meet Bacilio, or Boss as he’s known to his friends. Boss is

passionate about photography. As a member of GUM’s Youth Art

Collective, Boss spends his free time looking at life from behind the lens.

“I’m always thinking about the story behind the photo,”

shares Boss. “I think about how my pictures might

change someone’s ideas about our neighborhood.”

Boss is so passionate about photography that he's started his own

business taking pictures. Now, this 10th grader is getting paid to do what

he loves. That's empowerment made possible because of your support!

Boss credits GUM with giving him a better life, keeping him out of trouble

and sparking his interest in a photography career. “GUM gave me a huge opportunity,” he says. “It’s a place where I’ve made life-long friends.

I consider GUM my family.”

We are proud of Boss and all GUM's young people. We are so grateful you choose to partner with us in impacting lives & transforming our community.

Thank you for believing in GUM!
