Seth's Story

GUM has impacted my life in some crazy ways, first off I work at GUM, whenever I first got offered and talked to the people close to me, they said I was tripping if I said no because GUM would be awesome for me. Since working my vision of God has grown, I have changed my major for school, I think one of the biggest things is I get to see God show up with the staff volunteers, and then the community, seeing God work on people is the best impact I have seen and it pushes me.

Seth started off as a volunteer at our Late Night at the Park program, a gang prevention program that uses basketball and community to meet at risk students where they are. Seth joined our team in January 2025 as the Missional Engagement Assistant. In this role, he focuses on recruiting volunteers for events and program staff, helping us expand our impact in the neighborhood. When he's not building connections with volunteers, Seth also plays a key role in leading our summer mission teams. Seth’s ability to build relationships makes him a valuable asset to the team.
