Sarah’s Story

One of the most impactful things parts of being a part of GUM is getting to witness everyone’s growth. I started as a volunteer before getting hired in the youth department. In that time I built relationships with students and be a part of their everyday lives. After moving back to Galveston and getting hired as the media engagement coordinator, I got to witness the same students become summer interns, and eventually on staff where I get to see them serving our community the same way I did when I first got involved with GUM 7 years ago. GUM is creating a lasting impact and I’m proud to be a part of it.
